Guh
So this time I want to renew my passport which will expire next month. Four weeks ago I filled in a form, and looked for all the documents needed. BUT obviously there had to be something missing.
Depending on your situation and your parent's you need to provide a document justifying your French nationality. I was born in France, both my parents are French, so obviously I'm French. So I look up my category to know which document to provide. Born in France > At least one parent is French. So ok I have to provide a justification for my parent's French nationality. Except, duh, it has to be something other than their ID or their passport. OOooook. What else is there then?
I called the administration. Hmmm no clue either. Both your parents are French? Yes. But it says your mother was born in Vietnam. Well yes, but she was born French. Were her parents French? Yes. Were they born in France? No. And her grand parents? Err how should I know
?
So anyway French + not born in France = does not compile. Now I have to make a request to the district judge to get an official paper stating my nationality. I already had to provide a copy of my ID card, one of a phone bill to prove I was living here, and now I need yet another proof of my nationality.
Then I called the district to ask for this document. I need the birth certificates for my mother, my grand father and my great grand father, plus the same documents I already provided for my passport request. And all that just to RENEW my passport. This is getting ridiculous
I can't imagine what it will be like when I have to renew my ID card in four years.
On a side note, since a new mayor came into office in my town there has been roadwork done everywhere. They're blocking every street leading to my house. My floor has been vibrating every afternoon since monday because they are digging holes in the road which was fine to begin with. Seriously, he's a new mayor no one has ever heard of but does he really need to mark his territory like that
End of rant.
